Joe Rules, a fixture on the indy wrestling scene for over 20 years, was rated #500 in the 1997 PWI 500. He was the first JAPW Champion, a guest on The Jerry Springer Show, and a GWF Hall of Famer. 1997 - #500 - Contends to be the greatest wrestler in all of professional wrestling ... Upsets opponents and fans before matches by grabbing the microphone and bragging about his skills ... After his championship caliber ranting, though, things tend to go downhill ... Underdog status helps him pull off a win when it seems least likely.

1998 - #421 - Was thrilled when he found out his number 500 ranking last year ... Gained moderate success in several Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware independents ...
